How to Quickly Jump Between Tasks in Microsoft Project

In scheduling tools like Primavera P6, users can quickly navigate to an activity's predecessor or successor using the Go To button in the Activity Details form.

Microsoft Project does not offer an equivalent Go To button. Instead, it includes the Task Inspector, which can be used to trace driving predecessor tasks. However, this feature has several limitations. It does not provide easy access to:

• Non-driving predecessor tasks

• Predecessors of completed tasks

• Successor tasks

Fortunately, Microsoft Project includes a familiar navigation feature found throughout Microsoft Office applications: the Go To command, accessed by pressing F5.

In this video, I demonstrate how to use the F5 shortcut to quickly navigate to tasks in a Microsoft Project schedule, making it easier to move around large project plans and locate specific activities.
